Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre

The Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre (WACC) showcases local Aboriginal art, culture and history through various exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, music and tours throughout the year.

Our opening hours are from Wednesday–Friday 10am–3pm.

Programs

Our programs coincide with the six Nyoongar seasons:

Kambarang: October/November. The wildflower season and birth of many birds.
Birak: December/January. Nyoongars family groups moving together on the coast.
Bunuru: February/March. The hot season, camped on the coast, fishing and gathering coastal delicacies.
Djeran: April/May. The fat season, salmon schooling and couples paired up.
Makuru: June/July. Nyoongars go back inland, fertility seasons and swans.
Djilba: August/September. Grass season and time to harvest root vegetables.

Room hire

The WACC offers comfortable rooms for hire, ideal for community groups, individuals or businesses. Rooms are available for workshops, meetings, courses or seminars.

Please be advised that the WACC only hire rooms for cultural purposes only.

Meeting Room – the room available to hire includes:

Theatre style seating for up to 25 people and standing 30 people
TV and DVD player with HDMI cord included
Whiteboard
Projector

Outdoor parlour: this has Seating up to 35 people and standing 40 people.
